[Not the first time Toga been on her own. Only difference here is there isn’t much authority and she could pick a place to crash in, long as it was vacant. So here was Himiko, leaning over an open window, tummy rumbling, wearing just a long jacket, she could fall asleep here. That is, until a certain pro-hero called out.
Himiko’s ears perks up as if alarms were setting off. The moment her mind registered ‘Hawks’, her fight or flight mode kicked into overdrive, and well.. hope Hawks is prepared for some incoming weather his way, it’s about to rain pots and debris. Himiko is chucking random items over the window towards his direction. Nothing too harmless, but it sucks not having a knife yet.
The smell of kushiyaki reached her nose a moment later and the raining debris stopped, for now. Himiko peered over the window curiously like a small kitten.]
Something smells good.
[Her nose wiggles as she smells. She says this while still cautious and eyes on the target.]
( An aerial assault of said pots and pans has Hawks dodging and weaving on the patio; ducking before one can clobber him on the head. Yeah, this is about what the pro-hero expected. Ain't he lucky Toga has no weapons yet!
However, the hail Mary stops, and Hawks peaks out from behind the cover of his wings, spying little tufts of blonde hair from the window and yellow eyes following it. )
—You hungry?
( He waves the bag up at Toga, attempting to lure the girl out. This is a start. Hawks just has to play his cards right now. )
[It was pretty funny to watch Hawks dodge the garbage. Even if he still had his wings. This told her enough what’s going on with bird man and his quirk status, least she’s guessing.
She’s still playing cautious for good reasons. Still, the smell of kushiyaki is irresistible. Suppose, she can give an inch.
Himiko’s still hanging out by her open window, this time she lifts her head high enough for Hawks to see her face. Both arms rests on the window, head tilting a side, judging harshly.]
Yeah I’m hungry.
[No mistake from her growling tummy, but she wasn’t quite there yet.]
( Hawks laughs, unfazed by the Himiko's suspicion. Hey, this was good. She wasn't running, nor throwing pots. It's a good sign. )
Can't fool you, huh?
( Ulterior motives detected, Hawks doesn't try to hide it. She wouldn't buy he was just here for a friendly chat anyway. But that doesn't mean he's going to lay it on too thick. He isn't the law and order of the Town, after all. He just wants to keep everything as peaceful as possible. )
A little birdie told me you borrowed some clothes from one of the locals. Thought I'd check in and see if you needed any help giving them back.
[At least Hawks wasn’t acting above the law. As Hawks explained, Himiko recalled a post, head tilting back, almost thoughtful, nodding slowly, and then glanced away replaying—]
Naw!
[She snaked away from her open window back into her cute treehouse hut as if turning away a door to door salesman. Absolute rejected!]
[She’s smelling it Hawks! Meanwhile trying to resist the temptation, and she feels her stomach turning against her.
It takes a moment, because suddenly she fell quiet. Another moment pass as Hawks will be greeted by a her front door, swung violently open. If he had to guess, she kicked it. Congrats Hawks, you’ve summoned one pissed and hungry teen.]
You’re really annoying.
[At least she’s wearing a long shirt with shorts hiding underneath there somewhere, like someone woke her up out of bed or something. In one hand, there is no mistake, she’s holding a big kitchen knife. She sighs tiredly, still annoyed.]
Fine, I’ll play your little game Hawkey~ Only if you do one favor for me, and you owe me.
[She’s grabbing straws while the kushiyaki still hot!]
( Hah hey! Would you look at that? The door flies open and one hell of a grumpy villain steps out of it. Hawks is grinning. They are getting somewhere. )
Yeah. I get that a lot.
( Hawks shrugs. The blade is noted but the pro-hero doesn't make any outward response. Yeah, he knows what is probably coming next. It's a trade he can't except. But they are negotiating. So that is something. )
It depends on the favour, you know that.
( He'll hear her out, is what Hawks is saying. He takes another bite of a skewer. They sure are dwindling fast! )
[Before discussing important matters, the delicious skewer is still calling her name. That crunchy sound was enough to snap her back to her poor stomach. Himiko is flailing frantically, with knife in hand, sorry-not-sorry.]
At least save me a stick first you jerk!
[Where’s her piece? She is looking around, still flailing, with a knife.]
( Excuse me, Toga-chan, but this is Hawks' only bartering tool at the moment! He's not gonna give it up so easily. )
Alright, alright! I'll save ya two.
( He teases, bouncing back a few steps out of Toga's line of fire. That is one sharp knife! Has she been honing it? Probably. No Hawkie blood for you today. )
I'll give ya one if you tell me your terms. Sound good?
[Has Hawks ever seen a pissed off puffer fish? He’s about to! Himiko’s cheeks puffs out, holding her breath. Fine. So, she holds up two fingers. Yes Hawks, there’s two in mind!]
First, I want to know what’s the last thing you remembered before coming. Second, if and when Jin drops in, apologize to him.
Colour Hawks surprised. With the blade swinging around, he thought Toga would ask for his blood. But this?
...It's more earnest then he could have imagined. And there's a tight pull in his chest, the familiar pang of guilt, as he looks at the girl.
The mission came first. Imagine how many lives could be lost?
And yet. Twice wasn't a bad guy. He only died because Hawks hadn't moved fast enough. )
Got it. ( Yeah, Hawks can do that. It's the least he could do. )
And what do I remember? Well... ( This is a bit trickier. Is there something Toga knows, he doesn't? Could it be used against him... ) I guess I was in a car? Meeting some international heroes?
Whether Hawks followed through or not, only time will tell. For now, she will have to try and trust his word. After all, Hawks made a strange expression, and Himiko couldn’t read it. Meanwhile, Himiko’s expression was still, she was a petty girl with a grudge.
As for the next answer… her eyelids lowered, unimpressed. Perhaps she expected some kind of answer like that. Still, if that’s his answer, she won’t press further.]

( Hawks watches as the girl recedes back into her hideaway. Well, he knew it wouldn't be this easy, but he could dream right?
With kushiyaki in hand, Hawks opens his mouth wide and starts chomping away at the grilled chicken dripping with yakitori. )
Mhm—Guess you don't want any of these then, right?
( He calls out mid-chew, his voice muffled by the delicious chicken. )
